Low level allergy all the time Worth going to GP?

Hi, I know this is trivial compared to a lot of the allergies here, but I seem to have a low level allergic reaction most of the time.
I am very allergic to fish/seafood (can't even walk by the fish counter in supermarket without getting rash), I have asthma and hayfever, allergic rhinitis, allergy to horses/very furry animals/oranges/grapefruits/celery/ plus lots of unconfirmed allergies to thinks like perfumes, washing powder, etc.

I currently take 2x cetirizine tablets per day. This keeps the day to day (not fish) allergies mostly in check, but I have nights where I wake up in a sneezing fit....if I didn't know better, I would swear someone has sprinkled itching powder over me Confused my inner ears, eyes, nose, throat and gums are burning and itching, I sneeze 20+times, my nose is streaming, I cough and my asthma flares up. The only thing that relieves this slightly is washing my face in cold water, swilling my mouth out with cold water, obviously my inhaler and, if nearly morning, I take my dose of antihistamine early. This happens every few weeks. At the moment, I have been in an allergic state for 3 days....rash on face and chest, dry patch on my cheek, itching skin, ears, throat and mouth, sticky eyes, runny nose and more sneezy than normal.

My GP said previously I am on the maximum dose of antihistamine before I need to see a consultant.....I am wondering if there is any point in seeing the GP........is there anything they can do/prescribe, I am feeling so uncomfortable all of the time, but I was seen by the allergy clinic when I was 17 and they weren't much help (had 'run out' of most of the things I was to be tested for) and it is a couple of hours away.

TIA :)

Well do you want to travel the two hours or do you want to continue as you are? Smile

Does not seem like 'low level' sounds terrible!

Have you been tested for dust mite? If not have a look at the allergy uk website, sounds like it could be that at night?

I personally think you should see the specialist again!

If it is dust mite there o's stuff you can do to improve it.

I have sympathy for you, similar position a few years back a and saw a dermatologist privately who prescribed immuno suppressant drugs as tests showed my immune system was over reacting to a range of things and making my life a misery. They did work but they are serious medicine. I did have steroid tablets before that and it calmed things down but I'm not sure how they interact with asthma.
Do you attend an asthma clinic? Have you had patch and scratch tests?
