ds (almost 6mths) has the most ghastly red nappy area. It is almost covered in hives and am having so much trouble trying to get rid of it.
It gets far worse when he has a nappy on with a stay dry liner like a pocket but it doesn't improve at all with a disposable either. It does improve when he has a cotton nap on. Aqueous cream doesn't seem to help but diprobase was helping a bit.
I'm wondering if he has an allergy to something as the redness seems to be spreading slowly up his stomach and down his legs to his thighs. He is primarily bf but does have some solids. Normally banana and babyrice in am, lunch is some fruit, normally apple or pear mixed together or with mango or blueberry and veges for dinner.
Any ideas on what whether this could be an allergy to more than just the microfleece/polarfleece in his naps. He seems OK to wear it on his body.

Is he teething? My ds1 got the most horrific nappies when he was teething and I just used calendula powder (which I don't think you can get any more) on it. It didn't happen with my other two children, but he used to wake int he night screaming as his poo made it sting so much. Perfectly happy after a nappy change.

Might not be it, but a thought worth bearing in mind.

That was my first thought when it started. But he has had it for a couple of months now. Another dr today said maybe allergic to his urea and has instructed me to use huggies for a week to see if it makes any difference :(

She doesn't think it would be food as she said the rash would be over more than just this area...
