I only signed up last week, I hope I still get it!

What is the campaign about? I'm just interested - and perhaps a bit too nosey!

you know whats really annoying. we see 3 doc atm for my dd's allergies. she has a doc in hertford general for her skin, and 2 different ones in stevenage for her reactions and asthma. i cant belive those stats, that appaling.

Podmog - I had no idea the situation was so dire. Maybe that's part of the problem - the general public are unaware of the problems and so don't challenge it.

The campaign looks like an excellent one. Thank you for letting me know about it.

Wow I thought we had it bad here in NZ with 6 allergy specialists in public hospitals. But with only 4 million people, it seems that's pretty good.

Help! I can't get the website to load! Can anyone give me a quick list of the things to add in the letter?

So far I've got:

  1. The lack of allergy specialists despite the increases in the numbers of people who suffer from allergies.

  2. The lack of allergy awareness/training amongst teachers: including a refusal to administer epipens. I've also heard that in some schools teachers can refuse to help with asthma inhalers too. Is this true?

  3. A lack of training/awareness amongst people who work with children.

I would be more than happy to write to my MP (although I'm not sure how useful she will be! ) Is there a date by which these letters should ideally be sent?

TIA

I'm also going to add in my letter how much time and money could have been saved by the NHS if ds had been diagnosed properly and quickly.

it has taken almost 4years of dd1 having allergic reactions, not as severe as others but still quite scary before we got a referral to be seen at the allergy clinic.

Thanks for the help. I don't know if she will bother to reply but I posted the letter to our MP this morning. Maybe if enough people write in, one day we'll be in a position where children don't have to wait years to see an allergy specialist.

Thanks again.
