Breastfeeding cmpi baby, when to reintroduce dairy?

hi, DS is 11 months and was diagnosed with cmpi at 3 months so I cut all dairy out of my diet since then. I was hoping to introduce soy formula as he has no reaction to it (I currently mix in his cereal) but he does not like the taste on its own... anyway has anyone reintroduced dairy successfully in their diet and baby had no reaction? I was hoping to see if he could eat some food items containing small amounts of dairy after 1 year but surely the dairy via breast milk would be even smaller? I would also be happier breastfeeding for longer if I could eat some dairy, selfish I know! Any advice greatly appreciated

I've no experience but am currently dairy free after suspecting ds is CMPI (following ABs) so far its only been 3 weeks but the Paediatrician said as we expect a temporary one for me to eat something every 6 weeks or so to see what happens.

My DD was CMPI which took me 4 loooong months to figure out. I never purposefully did any dairy introductions but did accidentally have dairy in my diet a couple of times, once was one bite of a cooked biscuit made from a recipe that contained 2 tablespoons of milk and which made 50 biscuits, and she reacted Sad .

I only purposefully did dairy challenges once she was over 12 months old. I tried with a tiny amount if well cooked and processed dairy at 13 months and she was fine and then gradually increased the amount and intensity over the coming weeks until she ate an ice cream with no reaction at almost 15 months Grin

Oh and those challenges were her eating, not me. Sadly she was never much of a fan of BFing and stopped at 6 months.

The only way really is to try it and see. At one he could go onto alpro 1+ if you wanted to stop bf.

Can you see your go and ask for a referral to a dietitian who can help you with a re introduction plan?

Dd2 is cmpi. We saw a dietician a few weeks ago and have an appt booked for just after her first birthday to plan a reintroduction. She said a malted milk biscuit would be a good first thing to try.
