Epipen case that an 8 year old boy will carry with him

Having recently moved house DS has found a whole bunch of friends he can play out with and sometimes he is allowed to go to the park on his own for a bit. When he does this I want him to have his epipen with him but today he was complaining that the Yellow Cross bag that he'd attached to his belt makes running hard - to be fair it does hang about half way down his thing and I can well imagine it's a PITA for a small boy wanting to zoom about.

Any ideas/suggestions as to what we could get that works well for similar aged kids - I'm thinking we need something on a belt that is 'horizontal' rather than vertical hanging down like the Yellow Cross belt attachment. I'm pondering if we need a 'toughened' case rather than neoprene type thing but suspect that might be too bulky. If it's a case of comfort first then I'd probably forego the toughened/plastic type case as the Jext pen is in its tube and neoprene would provide some padding as well.

What about something like this?

Or this one from the same site

In regards to the toughened case does yours not come with one? When I got my new prescription of epi-pens they came with toughened shells which is fantastic for the handbag rather than the thin plastic ones which always shattered and left me with littleyellow bits of plastic in my bag.

we use the tough tubes ( but cant use them now as jext dont fit, need to get some more!) but put all meds in a pencil case.
then he pops that in to a small nike backpac.

he can transfer the pencil case to other bags, school, and now college, and pop jext in pockets inside his jacket.

We have an allergy bag that attaches to a belt.

The toughened cases are much better - I agree!

Thanks for the ideas, the second one on activeaide looks like what he might go for. The tough tubes are a good idea but won't really fit in his pockets at the moment as he's too short, backpack won't really cut it I suspect when he's running around or runs the risk of getting used as a goal post and then abandoned on the other side of the playground.

new style epi pens have a stronger case

but if you go to epipen.co.uk you can order tougher plastic tubes for old style pens.
