ask you pharmacy, there are plenty for sensitive skin.

marthamoo · 09/05/2006 16:38

Ds2 has excema and came out in a rash when I put sun cream on him the other day - he was fine with this cream last year.

I went to Boots today and bought some E45 sun-cream - they do two kinds. One is for super-sensitive skin and acts as a reflective barrier (it doesn't have UVA/UVB filters in) and the other has UVA/UVB filters but it says is still suitable for excema/sensitive skin. I bought the second type but if he gets a rash from that I'll try the reflective barrier type one.

HTH.

Green People make a children's organic sun cream which I have used for the past 2 years on my ds with eczema - it's great, a little expensive but lasts for ages \link{http://www.greenpeople-organic-health.co.uk/Product_Details.asp?Pc=G003&cc=G}

sunshinegirl · 09/05/2006 17:27

link didn't work - www.green-people-organic-health.co.uk

Alipiggie · 09/05/2006 17:35

Dr Hauschka skin care - holistic no chemicals. Not cheap but the best thing ever for children with sensitive skin like my ds2(slight eczema).

trace2 · 09/05/2006 17:44

sunshinegirl, carnt find link

Alipiggie found site, but dont know what i want

OP posts:
foxinsocks · 09/05/2006 17:45

unfortunately, you'll have to try a few and see which ones are ok on his skin

lots of people use Proderm (think you can get it in boots) - it's a mousse rather than a cream

Hattie05 · 09/05/2006 17:49

My dd did the same trace2, i have a feeling its not so much 'which' product, but just the general yucky greasiness on the skin on a hot day causing a kind of heat rash.

Prob best to try something with more natural ingredients.

trace2 · 09/05/2006 18:10

shame they dont give out freebies testser so we can find out

trace2 best one I've found is the SPF20 Sunscreen Spray, which is very easy to apply as you can squirt it all over and it's visible enough so you can rub it in. I was recommended this one as we have to use sunscreen everyday in Colorado as we're mile high and the rays are very strong. Let me know if I can help some more

singersgirl · 09/05/2006 18:25

You may find it's only one cream he reacts to. DS1 comes out in spots with Nivea and Coppertone, but is fine with Boots' Soltan and Ambre Solaire. I usually use the Boots' Sensitive/Fragrance Free range, which I think is in white bottles. I also found an excellent Aussie brand called Hamilton, but don't know if that is widely available.

apronstrings · 09/05/2006 18:29

check out ULTRASUN - available in John Lewis and on there own website - it is a once a day cream that really works and is fine for all my children (and me)who have lots of skin sensitivities. I think a lot of the 'thick' creams don't let the skin breathe and result in spots for my crew.

trace2 · 09/05/2006 18:34

just been on web looking its a nightmare, i might go to boots and ask for testers, i could try

phoned gp, used an other today its sending him mad, they going to give him a prescrition one

OP posts:
Blackduck · 10/05/2006 16:12

ds is allergic to a lot of them - seems to be the perfume in them as he is fine with 'simple' which has no perfume...

cornishmummy · 10/05/2006 20:42

Would be wary of a prescription one myself as will contain chemicals. Would again recommend Green People, myself and ds1 both suffer badly fom eczema ( I have all my life any believe me I have tried and tested a lot of things!!) and this cream really works.

trace2 · 10/05/2006 21:02

he gave us roc, i will i think still send for some of that web to be sure

Another stong recommendation here for the Green People one. Been using it for 2 years now with dd and will never ever change!!

lindaloo84 · 23/06/2010 21:54

was wondering if the green people suntan cream would stop sun allergys.my eldest child comes out in this bumpy rash wherever the sun gets her. It is so itchy too. no matter what i put on her skin its allways the same, Would be glad of any help. Anti hystamin helps dull the itch but does not stop her from getting it in the first place.

MJ74 · 25/06/2010 22:02

Defo , No Scent Sun Cream by Green People, excellent. I tried 3 before this on my toddler. Pro Derm brought her arms up in hives awful for her, Nivea and Simple gave her a rash. Green People defo no reaction for us!

ClaraRenee · 28/06/2010 19:33

My DD is very allergic to sun tan lotion. 5 years ago we used trial and error, the only 1 she can wear is proderm sun mousse, which is available on line from Boots. Its that good all my family use it.

JaMmRocks · 28/06/2010 19:38

DS2 has been fine with Simple

I've seen Avene recommended too, not sure how good that is
