Can milk have caused this?

I have looked at a few threads and now I think I have looked at too many am confused.

My DS tried cows milk 50/50 in porridge with formula (only 6.5months) and this week tried 100% cows milk in porridge with fruit. And now he's horrible diarrhoea when it didn't calm down after day 2 I stopped the cows milk and went back to my trusted foods.
But it now 5 days after I have stopped and he still has it.

Has anyone had this before ? Does it settle? Will my DS ever be able to have cows milk again.

Am really upset at myself and feel its my fault I thought you couldn't give cows milk (even in food) until 12 months but my HV said to give it.

does he have a cows milk based formula? It could be unrelated to the cows milk and he may have a bug. I used cows milk in cereal from 6 months and it is ok to do that as long as the main drink remains formula/breastmilk so your hv information was correct.

I'd be interested to know others thoughts on this. DS is breastfed and I introduced whole milk to his cereal at 12 months. I've never been able to pump/express enough to use BM, so mixed it with water.

He's also a late teether. Got his first two mid December and his top two on Xmas Day.

Over the last month he's gone from having baby sized adult poos back to soft (and fairly rank smelling) poos. Not sure if its the milk or teething related. No mucous in the poo though.

Ilovepowerhoop did you gently introduce or give 100% ? The doctor told me I have introduced too quickly and I needed to wean it in slowly I had never heard of this before he is on aptimal comfort.

Oh and moose I swear you should see what am getting it smells like
Vinegar.

I hope we get more people with their experiences to share.

I just used the cows milk plain in cereal i.e. not mixed with formula. Comfort milk has less lactose than ordinary formula so maybe the extra lactose in straight cows milk caused a bigger reaction than normal. If he is sensitive to lactose then maybe use formula in cereal until he is a bit older and his digestive system is more mature.
