8month old snack ideas/dairy alternatives

Hi everyone

I'd appreciate some help as the hospital have been no help what so ever!
I need some snack ideas for my dairy free 8month old as I can't give him cheese sandwiches, yogurts ect.
I asked the paed if he could have soya milk over cereal and he said soya formula only!?
Seemed strange as babies can have blue top milk on cereal now.
I use vitalite for toast and cooking but is in need of ideas as I'm stuck!
Thanks

We used oatly milk for cereal, but you shouldn't use it as main source of milk drink for under 1s. My DS couldn't tolerate soya, but if Your can their are soya yogurts, although I think they are high in sugar. We gave mainly fruit as snacks, breadsticks, hummus, avocado, raisins I think we may have given the Organix snack crisps as well, but can't remember what age we started giving them.

I would make jam tarts using stork marg, but again that may hav been when he was older.

He actually loved marmite sandwiches, much to DH disgust!

How about humous sandwiches (if you're happy giving sesame - I can't give it to my daughter) or guacomole sandwiches (Sainsbury reduced fat guacomole spread is dairy free)? Or, if your DS is good with meat, then ham or chicken sandwiches (my four year old DD cannot get enough ham sandwiches). Most of the Organix range of snacks is dairy free and many of them are, from memory, suitable for an 8 month old. Also, how about breadsticks? Oh and I forgot about good old fruit and veg?

I'm sure I gave my DS baby cherry tomatoes, avocadoes, grapes and oatcakes at this age. How about some cooked brocolli, mini rice cakes

Sweet potato chipped, toss in olive oil then roast 40 mins. Usually while oven on for something else. Keeps in fridge few days. Great finger food.

Cook with Oatly it works fine. Then feed whatever you eat.
Oatly cream is great too
Stork in foil is dairy free so make some cheese pastry straws minus cheese obv.
This stork is great for cooking btw, better than vitalite when baking.

Make muffins too with Oatly, not too sweet with apple or banana in. Easy and freezeable.

Tuna sandwiches, avocado slices, mashed avocado and banana on pitta or rice cakes, crumpets with Marmite.

Agree with the Oatly (calcium added) milk and cream for cooking and cereal - too much soya isn't brilliant.

How would you feel about peanut butter?

Home made fruit mufins or banana bread with dairy substitutes.

Boiled eggs sliced up, eggy bread.

Homemade, salt free, sweet potato, parsnip, beetroot, carrot and potato chips.

Oatly cream just about made my Christmas bearable. That and an amazing chocolate cake from the LEon recipe book!
