My ds is 21 months and has been an an avoidance diet for a month now. When can I expect to see an improvement in his eczema?? If anything, his eczema has got a little worse. Although his behaviour and stools have improved.

Hi,

My son's really severe eczema cleared up quite quickly once he went onto Neocate and a strict diet.

We kept a food diary at first and as well as the usual suspects (diary, soya, wheat, egg etc) his eczema is made worse by things you wouldn't expect such as swede and parsnip.

So perhaps this is the same with your ds? Are you keeping a food diary? Because he is on an avoidance diet, is he eating something else in large quantities which could be the culprit?

Sorry not much help - but hope it starts to get better soon.

Have you nuked the rash with steroids. Having been through this myself you have to get rid and then it's if it doesn't come back that the diet is working.

Also probiotics and flax seed oil with speed up the healing of the gut.
