Inspired by Trixy's beautiful cake, can anyone recommend a recipe for a Wheat, Egg, Nut free birthday cake please?

I've just seen the picture of Trixy's birthday cake and I'm after a cake recipe for my DD's birthday next month. She'll be 5.

She is allergic to wheat, eggs, nuts, legumes, sesame, rapeseed oil, and some other things.

My DP often won't eat the cake and neither do the rest of my family when we have a party for her, so I'd like to make something this time that we can all enjoy, if that's possible.

I've tried banana based recipes but DD doesn't like the taste of banana in the cake. She'll happily eat banana normally.

If anyone would be happy to share any recipes, that would be great.

Many Thanks in advance ( and Trixy, thanks for the inspiration :) )

My kids are ok with wheat so can't really help on that front I'm afraid! Try blogs such as pig in the kitchen or the intolerant gourmet maybe?

The advice I would give you is to leave yourself plenty of time to have a couple of attempts as I find baking without eggs very hit and miss even using recipes I have used before.

Don't be embarrassed Trixy, I'm so pleased you posted your cake picture. It's a timely reminder. Thanks I usually don't leave myself enough time to get the cake ready so have ended up with a big rice krispie cake, which DD loves but looks a bit rubbish. Also, I can't find marshmallows without wheat based glucose syrup anymore :(

The pig in the kitchen is my favourite blog ever, but alot of the recipes use flax seeds and/or chick pea flour. DD has a bad allergy to sesame so we've been told to avoid seeds and she also has a legume allergy. But it's still a great blog and the writer has a brilliant way with words. I'll have a look at the intolerant gourmet blog again too. I didn't find anything last time I looked but that was a while ago so I'll have another look. Thanks for the tip.
