A bit late now as we are off tomorrow but would appreciate ideas for next time.

we are off for one night only to the seaside and our plan is:

thurs:
b/fast: at home.
lunch: picnic - ham rolls, fruit, soya yogs, biscuit
tea: soup/ free from chicken casserole frm sainsburys (high in salt not ideal) on camp stove
supper: banana/ biscuit/ soya milk

Fri:
camping b/fast: Sausage sarnies!!!
lunch: luckily sister is joining us and bringing picnic -chicken sandwiches for ds - we couldn't keep meat fresh.
tea: er chips!! run out of ideas...

He hates beans. How do you camp for any length of time with an allergy sufferer?

we brought a fridge that runs in the car, very useful as we are dealing with

dairy/soya/peanuts/nuts/beans/egg/kiwi /yeast extract allergies!

Will have to look into getting a fridge- that would make things so much easier!

thanks for replying Smile

I've been looking at camping fridges online, and they are very expensive! However, I think this is probably the best option when we are dependent on eating meat for protein (allergies to dairy, eggs, nuts and pulses). The only other way I can think of coping is having a really good coolbox and shopping every day for fresh sausages and meat - but that would be an awful lot of hassle.

That's a great tip re fridge! Will add it to wishlist for next year. We hadn't dared this year largely because I couldn't get my head around food for DD (eggs, soya and milk allergies) as so much just has to be made from scratch! I was thinking we'd have to make our peace with daily trips to shop if we did it next year.

Well we managed it but it involved a lot of breadbuns!!!

We ate at a hotel restaurant on thurs evening and they were v. lovely and cooked plain chick and chips and peas. (not on their menu)

We couldn't have gone for any longer and I don't think we will do it again - will probably save up and stay in a caravan instead!

was great to get away tho' Smile
