Is it normal to develop allergies to stuff they've been ok with so many times before? Im very, very worried. When will it all stop??

Ds 13 months has a relatively long list of allergies and its growing. Something happened tonight also.

Hes allergic to cows milk, goat milk, eggs, peas, nuts, peanuts, aveeno, green lentils, celery.

Tonight he had fish fingers and chips, a teeny bit if carrot, followed by a bit of apple, pear and baby rice pouch.

All of those things hes had countless times.

And he had a reaction, Im finding this very worrying. When will it end???

Also, someone touched his face with a feather today and he came out in hives whats that all about????

he is just a sensitive multiple allergic child.

allergies dont come in ones.

foods come in groups, so peanuts peas and beans are legumes and 5% of those allergic to peanut are allergic to other legumes.

lots of kids allergic to peanut are also allergic to egg, but there is a high chance of outgrowing egg allergy.

if you are allergic to cows milk you will also be allergic to other udder milk as its the same protein structure.

its possible that environmental allergies may explain the random hive type reactions. a high amount of pollen would be on that feather.

a tree nut allergies are often linked with tree pollen allergies,as are fruit allergies.

its worth reading up on allergies, e.g the complete guide to food allergies and intolerance by prof brostoff, published by gamlin.

btw my son is one of the multiple allergic kids, and we faced an almost daily hive type reaction and discovered new allergies along the way.

hope this helps somehow.

It really does help thank you. It was definitely caused by something he ate at dinner time because it was round his mouth as it always is with mild reactions. Hes had tiny hives coming up over his face since but tiny though.

I forgot to mentiom that he is allergic to raw potato, do you know what family thats in? What its linked too?

I will absolutely be buying the book you mentioned. Eragon you have helped me again as you have many times before, thank you.

Its ok I finally found it.

Potato, celery (tick, tick) carrots, pears (both of which he had tonight) and more... i'll point the finger at those two first and go from there.
