My 15 mo DS is allergic to egg and dairy and we've now discovered he is also wheat intolerant (his stools were still fairly loose so I eliminated wheat from his diet and his nappies improved after 2 wks).

Can anyone pls recommend a recipe for bread without the above ingredients?? He can have soya. He just doesnt like the wheat free bread you can buy (have exhausted Tesco, Waitrose and Asda!) and most of them contain egg anyway.

I have a breadmaker but I don't care if it's with breadmaker or without; I'm off work for the next 2 days so I want to get some baked for him and in the freezer.

TIA

I don't know any recipes, but if your DS is ok with soya then perhaps you could try Dietary Specials white or brown ciabatta rolls. They're really good. Tesco sell the brown ones, and some Holland & Barretts sell the white ones. Also some Waitroses. HTH

Try Dietary Specials ciabatta rolls. They are wheat, egg and dairy free (but do contain soya) and closest thing to 'real' bread rolls we've found. The white ones are a good starting point but quite dense so we used to cut each roll into 4 thin slices and make 2 sandwiches out of it. DS now has the brown ones now he's a bit older.

Would recommend you try hand making a wheat bread loaf and trying it as apparently the bread machines and industrial methods of kneading don't break down the gluten properly so many people who are wheat intolerant are fine with a handmade loaf (learnt this on recent cookery course) added bonus is that everyone will want to eat it as it will taste yummy Smile good luck!

Thanks Arfur but he hasn't been off wheat that long so I don't want to confuse the issue by giving him wheat - maybe in a few months though.

Hi, my son can not have egg, dairy or wheat, I buy a packet mix as I am still on the hunt for a bread mix I can make my self. I buy the ORGAN Bread mix and he likes that, it is about £3 for a packet so its expensive, but I cut it up and it freezes fine and he's the only one who eats it.
