DS is 1 and I am going back to work. He has an egg allergy and we are waiting on futher testing. He is breastfed but I need something to offer during the day and I would like to avoid artifical milk if possible.
I have heard that goats milk is better for a sensitive baby but Im just wondering why?

I know he could just have water when Im not there and then feed more at night but tbh I dont think I could take that, he already feeds 3 or 4 times between 7pm and 7am and I am knackered.

goats milk has slightly different protien structure, and so those with mild intolerance can benifit from goats milk.
how ever those with ige reactions to milk will have reactions to all forms of udder milk, so avoid if thats the case.

If yr baby is on soilds and has had cows milk in any form, a normal formula will be ok.
however , if your baby has a question mark over cows milk, re possible allergy, might worth testing to confirm or deny and perhaps you need to ask gp for the best allergy formula with whole protein strands changed.

hope this helps.

Your baby might not feed more frequently at night if he doesn't have breastmilk during the day - he might just be more efficient when he does feed. Some mums find that their children (and their breasts) adjust quite quickly to the new pattern.

I'm a childminder, and last winter I took on a 12 month old mindee who had always been breastfed. He drinks only water during the day (and eats like a little horse) and has a huge breastfeed as soon as his mum walks in the door. Like your DS, he feeds about 4 times between late afternoon and breakfast. His mum says he is not feeding more frequently at night now that she is at work during the day.

Agree that if your DS will probably be fine with normal formula or cows milk if he has already been having bits of cows milk in his diet regularly.
