Anyone with a DC with allergy to mould?

I've just received a letter from DS's paediatrician following a number of tests. Good news is that he will have a baked milk and egg challenge in hospital soon. The not-so-good news is that the other allergies remain the same, and we now have a positive IgE result for mould aswell.

We have suspected a mould allergy since he was about a year old. This was because he would cough a lot at night in our old house (very damp) and the cough disappeared almost immediately as soon as we moved into our new relatively mould-free house. His cough always gets worse in damp weather. We also noticed that he slept better and looked much perkier when we visited his grandparents, who have a spotless mould-free house. His eczema has also got worse recently and I suspect it might be because there is more mould around with the wet weather.

So was just wondering whether anyone else has a DC who suffers from mould allergy and how serious it is? Any tips to reduce exposure?

we have mould on list, with all others, is on daily histamine to control his reactions.

we also would take a extra one if we planned to go walking in woods in the autumn.

perhaps taking antihistamine during the autumn would help? ask gp for advice ?

So is it cetirizine your DC takes, eragon, plus Piriton if you're in the woods in autumn? How does your DC react when in contact with mould, and is the antihistamine enough to control it? My DS is on cetirizine daily, and montelukast to control the asthma, though still has itchy skin almost constantly these days. And a constant cough, but I think that's just a nasty virus he's been fighting.

my son is on 2 diff daily forms of antihistamine, (bit of long complicated story going on behind this)

does not have asthma, which is were the diff is between yr child and mine.
he does have asthmatic type response to some enviromental and food allergies, but is not asthmatic. we do have ventolin as part of his package of allergy meds.

often has swollen lips, hives to over exposure of envio allergies hence the first daily antihistamine.
