Good luck! DD is due her first food challenge on Friday (egg). A little bit nervous. She's excited. In the best place and under observation.... we are lucky to have this opportunity is what I keep reminding myself.

Thanks and good luck to you too! How old is your dd? Yes I know we are so lucky to be in this position to be offered the challenge. I wasnt expecting any change really as dd has had recent bad reactions but they've all been to unknown traces (also allergic to egg and nuts). I'm trying to be positive about the difference it could make but still realistic...

You'll be there for a long time so take something to entertain your DD eg Nintendo DS.

Take food for afterwards as she'll be starving after having nothing to eat during it.

Take spare clothes and wipes in case she's sick everywhere.

Make sure you don't give piriton for 48 hours beforehand.

Good luck!!

Thanks for the tips trixymalixy. I was thinking of your experience of your ds and failing the milk challenge. Dd also failed :( She seemed ok with the little bit on her lip but turns out that had been itching (she only said at home) but 5ml made her really agitated, sore throat and then sick and then really sleepy zombie like... She had piriton and then slept a bit. Was sick again and then slept for 2 hours in really noisy ward! It certainly was a long day - 8 hrs before they let us home.

Sad, your poor DD.

DS also slept for hours on my lap after a failed milk challenge, it really worried me, but it must be normal as they didn't seem concerned.
