Hi all,
Am stepping up my allergy preparedness after an incident, luckily at home, where I needed to get my hands on piriton v quickly.
I have some little bottles ordered i think from an Australian co which I've used before for transporting piriton everywhere, but the problem I had was that they became impossible to open after a period of not being used.
Anyone got any tips on good ways to carry piriton - I'm thinknig we need some in my bag, change bag, dh bag, at my mums, etc. Obviously we'll need to label properly too....
Have just joined Anaphylaxis campaign, I'm on a mission to get back in control or feel some semblance of control by doing something useful!
Thanks
x

Silly question probably but does it have to be in liquid form (I assume you are talking about liquid) or could you not just get everyone to carry a pack of antihistamine tablets? I've always got some in my bag (bad hay fever so not as serious as it sounds like you are talking about) and the packs are very resilient to being bashed about

This website is good
www.alwaysreadthelabel.info

Thanks will check that website out too.
It does have to be liquid as for a 4 year old and he wouldn't manage a tablet especially in a severe reaction situation. Otherwise yes that would be easier!

Allergy Tablets are often unsuitable for food allergy sufferers anyway as they all contain LactoseHmm.
Could you decant a normal sized bottle into smaller containers? Or clean the thread of the lid regularly to stop it sticking.

Any local chemist will sell you small screw top bottles really cheaply. I did as inmysparetime suggests - I decanted a large bottle of piriton into the smaller bottles. I have one bottle and a couple of medicine spoons in a clear plastic freezer-type bag in my pram, changing bag, car, etc etc, as well as one each upstairs and downstairs in the house. Some people I think carry pre-loaded oral syringes too.

car - that's a good idea too.
I will try the chemist as some of the specialist sites are v expensive.
And you're right I should have cleaned them regularly (piriton is so sticky!) but I actually can't open two of them at all!
