My baby refuses soy formula or soy milk (even the kinds flavored with vanilla). She needs the calcium so I am looking at supplements. Any advice how ways to ensure my dd gets the calcium she needs (she is 18 months).

DS is on Rice Dream (he is also allergic to soya so not many other options).

You can get it in big Sainsburys although ASDA sells also rice milk but from a different brand.
If you decide to go for rice milk check that it is calcium added one as both brands have also versions with no added calcium.

That is perfect. Thanks. I am printing it now and will tape it to my fridge. I actually didn't realize the calcium content in vegetables because I was too focused on calcium comming from cow's milk.

broccili looks to be your best bet.

Also, have you tried making banana smoothies or strawberry smoothies with the soy milk? Can she drink with a straw? What about some of the milkshake falvorings you can get, crusha type things?

Personally, I think soy milk is rank, I wouldn't drink it without a good dollop of something nice in it.

Broccoli's calcium is in the stems - ds will eat loads of broccoli but only the green bits.

Chocolate soy milk and chocolate rice milk were our way into milk replacements for ds.

My ds3 (2.5) gets enfamil lactofree formul which I love (I'm dairy intol too, and am avoiding yucky soya at the risk of my bones ) it's suitable for lactose intol, but not allergy. On prescription.

I am also told you can make a fantastic rice pudding with almond milk, which is sold by Holland and Barratt too.

Strawberry provamel milkshake (in little cartons), swedish glace ice cream, yofu / provamel yoghurts- all yummy. it's just the milk that's rank HOWEVER there are a few drinkables out there... Tesco own brand sweetended, from the fridge not the longlife, is superb.

If all else faile, ds1 (me + 2 out of 3 ds's are milk free zones) takes the liquid calcium andmagnesium supplement from NF formulas.

Thanks this is all helpful. I am going to give up on the soy milk. Honestly, I wouldn't want to drink it. But these are lots of good options.

Please avoid almond milk until your baby is at least one year old.
