Baked cheese

Would appreciate some advice from the more experienced mums on this board. DS is allergic to milk but have recently managed 1/2 a tsp of baked milk .

This may seem a really stupid question but has anyone in a similar situation managed baked cheese? Not as in cheesy pasta bake but more like baked cheese on pizza or baked into a muffin.

He's not keen on spoon feeding but will consistently eat baked goods (must be genetic) so I would love to make him some savoury muffins with protein baked in.

DN is lactose intolerant and has to have Lacto free milk. I know he tolerates cooked cheese far better than uncooked, but it does still upset him and SIL won't let him have it too near to bedtime or he won't sleep.

Thanks. DS is allergic to the protein in cows milk though, not the sugars. I might give it a go when I'm feeling very very brave.

How old is your son?

Do the hospital tell you when to try it?

Ive been told people who are allergic to milk arent always allergic to cheese as proteins change during its processing.

I think my baby would love cheese its such a bummer. We've found a good soya cheese though so we can still have pizza - phew!

DS is coming up to 1 now. The allergist we saw suggested trying baked milk at home by rubbing a bit of cake on his lips first then waiting and if no reaction letting him have a few crumbs and building it up. He isn't anaphylactic to milk though, otherwise we wouldn't dare. I've been letting him have a bit of cake everyday, he loves it!

What brand of soya cheese are you using? I can't seem to find any in the supermarkets and we can't afford to keep ordering stuff from goodness direct.
