Could this be a bit of intolerance?

My 15w old has been diagnosed with reflux, is on ranitidine and gaviscon, doctor also said he has colic so he has infacol.

He was put on ranitidine when at 12w when I got sick of being told his congestion was mucus, he's less congested now (chest is clear I think and nasal much better) but is still somewhat and sneezing/coughing relatively often.

He has hard green poos, this is now most days. He had green runny poo, screaming on boob and no weight gain/weight loss on breast milk and was put on top ups at 3 weeks then ended up nearly exclusively formula (express bottle a day) as refusing breast. He was having one runny nappy a day and one normal consistency, he's now been having one green hard poo every day, sometimes 2 days, sometimes there will be normal coloured then green.

He's been fussy on the bottle for about 6 weeks, moreso the past couple of weeks but he's now started teething badly the past few days so it might be that.

Hes not sick that much anymore (about once a day) but does get milk just running out of the side of his mouth a while after feeds.

He's terrible to get to nap, although I don't think that's anything tk do with it! Need to rock him to sleep, with his dummy and normally a lullaby too then lucky if he's out for more than 15 minutes unless he's in his pram!

Sorry for such a long post!

I think he could have a bit of intolerance?

It could be. His digestive system isn't happy is it?
Have you tried cutting out all dairy for 3 weeks and seeing if your baby improves ( takes a while for milk to get out of your system).
This is hit and miss but I know some people whose babies were more contented 48 hrs later or a week later ( coincidence or not who knows?).

Are you getting help from the HV/GP ? Have you been referred to the hospital?

A lot of what you are saying reminds me of my DS2 at that age. I was pretty thick though and he was over a year old before I twigged it was an intolerance.

I know it's worrying and really hard work, I think when weaning starts things get clearer to what the cause is.

And if it is an intolerance don't worry, it's not fun or fair but it's do-able and to have a happy child makes it worth it.

Oh - we have the spots that come and go too...

I have cut dairy down quite a lot but not completely (mostly just in coffee), I only really keep up the bit of breast milk because it seems to help him be a bit less constipated!

Was very milk addicted when I was pregnant and carried on a bit after having him. He didn't gain weight, just screamed when feeding, was put on top-ups at 2.5 weeks and by 3 weeks was nearly at birth weight, I definitely didn't have low supply though. Ended up mostly formula due to refusing breast and has gained well since (6.9kg at 12 weeks).

HV says he's fine because he's gaining weight (not sure he will have this month though), haven't discussed all his symptoms with gp as recently just been worried with the breathing! But hv always says he's fine no matter what I ask.

He seems to be getting fussier and fussier eating, even when i know he's not in teething pain, will be very surprised if he's managed to gain anything this month.

Have now read the NICE guidlines, think I'll print them off and take them to gps with me, and maybe grab someone else to come occupy the little man so he doesn't start crying and I go completely off track and get fobbed/forget bits.

He's got the perineal rash the guidelines mention, never thought of that before just never understood why sudocream and lots of nappy free time didn't take it away!

Poor little mite.

Just read another post about not putting on weight bfing and it being diagnosed and can't believe it's not even been considered yet!

My Dr's dismissed the idea of my DS1 having any intolerance cos he was a tall and chunky baby. Somehow regardless of all the vomiting he kept thriving.

Sounds like HV isn't going to be assisting you with this so the Dr it is.... Lots of luck.

I think ( and only my opinion on what I would try) remove dairy totally and see what happens. A lot of this is trial and error to find the cause.
