hi ladies. i was wondering if i could give my baby probiotics such as actimel or is he too young (5.5 months). i have been told their great for eczema. he suffers quite badly, not a day goes by we dont have to use steroid cream.
hes currently using proppaderm 10% with white paraffin mix in a 500g tub twice daily. we bath him in oilatum and we use cetraben sometimes. we use trimovate on his face very thinly once a day and the dermatologist told me to use fucibet on the really bad patches.
he has seborrheic & atopic eczema.

Not actimel - too many ingredients. You could drink it if bfing though.

I'm not sure about the UK, but in NZ I buy a powder, it's just the cultures, rice starch and silica. It says from 0-5 years on the front.

Flax seed oil is also good for the skin and helps the probiotics work properly.

In the UK you can buy Solgar ABCDophilus, which is an additive free white powder. You can stir it into milk or juice or sprinkle on cold food. Expensive (can't remember price) but lasts for ages in the fridge.

I give it after stomach upsets and antibiotics.

Sorry, just read that your baby is BF. You could try in purees when you start weaning.
