rash on face after breastfeeding, could my baby be allergic to my skin?

My DD has a rash that only appears after really close contact with my skin.

I am wondering if she could be reacting to my body cream as very sensitive skin run's in my DH's and my own family and I also have allergic skin reactions to different body creams.

The rash comes up around her mouth and under her chin as well as on the parts of her cheeks that touch my skin the most while breastfeeding.

I am just curious if anyone else has had a similar experience and what they did about it other than change body cream like visiting the GP and getting it confirmed.

The rash itself looks like large red patches with raised white bumps throughout the red area. It disappears after an hour or so but comes back worse than before.

could be the body cream, have you tried to stop using it for a few days to see if ds still gets the rash?

I changed body creams because this happened with a previous one and it worked for about a week before the rash came back.

I am going to change it again from today to see if that helps.

I wasn't sure if it could be something in the breast milk, but it just seems to come up on her face after nursing where she has been in contact with my skin and nowhere else on her body.

Could it be a type of heat rash? I know quite a few bf babies get heat rash where their skin has been in contact with mum. If it's not itchy then that would be my guess although you could try avoiding using any body cream on the areas that come into contact with baby while feeding to see if that makes a difference too. Just one more question, do you use a diffent washing powder on your clothes to your baby's? If so, then that could also be a possible culprit.
