My baby is 9 months, one things for sure hes an allergic baby. At the moment its just food but we want to go camping in July so obviously tree and grass allergies is at the forefront of our minds before we book.

We dropped of DS1 to school today and went past the lawn mowers, grass in the air and on the floor, smelt lovely. So am I right im thinking if he had an allergy or hayfever to grass hed have reacted already?

Dp said different grass has different pollon (I had no idea there was more than one type of grass!!) but its a good start, right?

Does anyone think its irresponsible of us to take a newly allergic baby camping? We'll only be an hour from home. Have epipens, piritom and will mark the local hospital on a map.

You say he's an allergic baby, but also that he's only allergic so far to foods. My DS2 (4) is allergic to a long list of foods, but has no known environmental allergies. We've been camping many times, with no issue.

I know allergies make us all very anxious, but I'd stick with what you know. You know he's allergic to foods and you have medication to deal with that. You no reason to think he has environmental allergies, so I'd go ahead with the camping trip. Enjoy!

My experience is that it starts April onwards, tree pollen first, ds1 is 9 an he gets it every year, the doctor said to start a daily hayfver tab from mid march, to stop it before it starts an the symptoms have been drastically reduced, for the rest of the summer he is fine, just a few weeks at th start of spring? It will be find to go camping, totally fine, just see how he is and give him meds if needed. Not irresponsible at all.
