DS best friend is moving house in the new year 3 hours away Sad

He is coming for the day on friday and I really want the boys to have a great time but his friend is CMPI and I'm sure his mum does not want him ill over xmas! Normal playdates haven't been a problem so far tbh.

Boys being boys they love their food so any suggestions of the best biscuits/ chocs/cakes/ ice cream equivilents I could buy? I really want them to relax and have what they want without me having to deny him anything iyswim?

Or is it better for me to make a cake and what butter alternative is best?

if you're up for baking then I'd definitely do that, you can make all sorts, just use vitalite, or pure spread

there is a brand of ice cream called swedish glace which is quite nice, if you can get the raspberry flavour that's the best!

popcorn is good, as long as it isn't a toffee one. sainsburys "sweet and salty" is delicious and is dairy-free
as is their basics one which is just sweet

lots of crisps will be fine, just check the ingredients

sweets like haribo and stuff are ok

oh haribo, now that's an idea kids love those!

Popcorn and cake/ biscuits made by pure spread sound like a good option - I'm baking xmas biscuits tomorrow anyway so could make another batch and let DS friend take the uneaten ones home Grin

Hit the "free from" section in Tesco or Sainsburys. There's dairy free chocolate (Sainsburys even have chocolate coins).

chocolate coins are also good for this time of year, I plan to get his friend the 'same' as DS will eat but that he can too iyswim? I just want to be prepared so that if they ask for something I can say yes instead of always having to check.

Anything not eaten I'll make into an doggy bag xmas hamper!!

Fox's party rings are dairy free if you don't have time for baking.

I've baked!! made cupcakes and shortbread after my initial panic that vitalite contained milk! Thanks for the replies on that thread!
