I've just seen these new guidelines here. Definitely worth a read if you think it might be you or your child one day.

In fact, I might print out a copy to keep at home not that I don't trust the doctors or anything

That's great, thanks. Interesting that they're supposed to offer an epipen to take home before you see the allergy specialist. I wonder how many times that actually happens!

babybarrister - thank you for that link, it's very informative and has told me more than our consultant did. Wish I'd read it in the morning rather than just before bed though. DD has bad tree nut and shellfish allergies....

We were given epi-pens before DS's allergies were confirmed. He'd had a couple of incidents of hives and itchy throat so I just asked our GP and he wrote the prescription out. He is very 'prescription happy' though.

Can't read all the guidelines as I'm on my phone, will look at it later.
