We have a 4-5 hr journey tomorrow (shropshire to Somerset) and will break for lunch.

I don't eat meat and have just given up dairy which seems to help DS' reflux. He's 8 weeks and ebf.

Lunch will be somewhere around gloucester/bristol. I am concerned about getting something to eat that won't upset DS. Usual options of veggie pasta, cheese sarnies are not available and soup might be iffy. What am I left with? Anyone allergy-tested service station food?
Are veggie burgers dairy-free?
I assume that battered fish will use milk?
Should I just take a peanut butter sarnie and eat on the road and let everybody else have lunch?
Can anyone recommend anywhere in the gloucester/bristol area as an alternative to the service station?

you can normally get a jacket potato with beans which would be fine.
or some sort of salad.

fish varies, some batters have milk, others don't... so it's worth an ask
pasta with tomato sauce is fine

i am also veggie and dairy/egg free and haven't had a real problem eating at service stations.

If you look at McDonalds allergy listing you can check what you can have - the spicy veggie wrap is OK

Thank you all for your help.

I'd actually not thought about tattie and beans and I can't remember when I last had a maccy d. I know our toddler has never had a mcdonalds ...

not all batter will have dairy in it ... if its a quality place then they'll use a home-made beer batter rather than a mix with milk powder in it... You'll have to check though.

Usual veggie food is likely to have some dairy in it, but as you eat fish, some fish/potato/veg option should be ok. Or soup and no butter on your roll?
