I know that many mummies have been through similar situation but I am mentally and physically exhausted. My ds who is only 13 months has milk, nuts and egg allergy. At his follow up appt with the allergy specialist it turned out that now he is allergic to wheat, lentils (possibly peas as well) and oats( suspected). I felt as if the ground beneath me gave way. I know we(me, my ds n my dh) will have to deal with it. But I don't know how. He has been breast fed all along but now they want me to stop. Hes prescribed nutramigen aa as he reacted badly to pepti. How do I make him swallow that horrible tasting milk. Does anyone have any suggestion as to what I should do re: his milk. I was advised to mix it with my milk initially but I can express only very little. What do I do. Shall I mix it with coconut milk. He's now not allowed oatly, soya and was also advised against rice milk. He used to have very bad eczema but somewhat better(although very itchy) now. What do I feed him with so many allergies and how is he going to grow!!!

Yes u r right, the very thought of depriving him of milk is awful. I have bought nesquick flavouring. Have used it and kara coconut milk with nutramigen. He won't take it from me for obvious reasons but surprisingly takes it from the nanny at least once ( one feed) During the day when I go to work. But that's only one day a week. It's tough coz he throws such a huge tantrum when he gets the bottle instead of my milk :( But I will keep trying
....
Thanks mum2two

It's getting more difficult because he never really took to the bottle. So he's not only struggling with the taste of his milk and give up mummy's milk but also struggling to use the bottle. I am trying to get him on to a beaker now. But again no luck. He would drink water from it but not milk!!!

My Ds refused a bottle at first and won't take milk from a beaker, babies can be so frustrating! At least he will drink the milk from the nanny that's a step forward. Good luck.

How's it going, sagarika? Has your DS taken more bottles from the nanny? Hope you're coping ok. Just wanted to send a little message of support and sympathy!

Might not be any help at all but would be suck the milk through a straw? Maybe the novelty factor would win him over.

V sorry you are going through this, must be very worrying.

Hi garliclover and heymammy. I feel like with every step forward I go 2 steps backward! There is no way he will take the bottle from me. I am giving up... I have resorted to a similar diet as his and am still breast feeding. When I am at work he takes the bottle from the nanny but not without a fight. There are new items on the list of his allergens - corn, chickpeas, and a very small reaction to coconut. I was using kara coconut with his nutramigen. The allergy specialist said he could still have it because it's only a small reaction. But I don't know anymore....he can still be itchy( eczema not 100% better) which leads me to think whether he is still eating something that he might be allergic to. I am getting paranoid about potential allergens in his diet. Just listing his allergens again, dairy, eggs, nuts, possibly soya, wheat, oats, corn, lentils including chickpeas(we used to eat lentils a lot as they are a very goid source of vegetable protein). At this rate he's never going to enjoy his food. I dont feel like going for the hospital appointments anymore coz everytime we go there he comes back as positive for more allergens..what is he going to eat? Supplements all his life???I am sorry to sound so doom and gloom but what can I do......I am beginning to lose faith!!

Oh and tomatoes as well. The only positive thing was that he can eat peas.
