just got result through to peant, had hoped it may have gone down a little but it appears to have gone through the roof. annoyingly we cannot find the previous blood test result which was done a couple of years ago but the consultant in the letter we got today said it was extremely raised at 58.8 ku/L whatever that means. his letter is really frustrating as he talks in dr terms as if he was discussing her results to another consultant, like i understand what he is talking about but doesn't explain anything to me clearly which is why i have sent an email asking questions. i wondered do any of you mums out there with a child with peanut allergy know your childs blood test result. i am really gutted as it makes her so much more vunerable. gutted :(

I avoid Tesco products for my DS as even lemonade & tinned tuna appear to be risky Hmm

Chocolate - Kinnerton or Nestle. Cakes - Fabulous Bakin Boys and Just Love.

Reading labels is time-consuming but very necessary.

The doctor at the hospital said they could not test my daughter for nut allergy officially until she turned 2 years old, she is only 15 months old atm.

We saw the doctor as she had an allergic reaction last week, hence we have been told to go nut free until she is tested at summer.

What ages were your children tested ?

CasaBevron · 23/11/2011 08:41

DS is 8 months now and was rast tested at 5 months, skin prick tested at 7 months. Testing is possible at any age.

I would ask ask for your dd to be tested sooner. My dd was tested for milk and eggs at 6 months and nuts at 16 months following a severe reaction.

How did your dd react?

Her face, limbs and body were covered in an angry red edged raised rash and her eyes/face became swollen on second day and she was struggling to open her eyes.

First doctor gave pirton, 3 doses later still getting worse, 3rd doctor at hospital gave her steroid course.

Yes, I'm going to ask for her to be tested sooner. It is silly to wait and worry for months if she isn't allergic to nuts.

Reaction followed scrap of pure organic no additives peanut butter on a rice cake as a mid morning snack. One she has had before with no such reaction.
