I'm so angry with myself that we managed fine in Spain when we couldn't speak the language but can we go to Center Parcs in the UK without making my child ill? Apparently not. what and it might only have been a trace? Yes a f*ing trace and well yes copious vomiting and diarrhoea for two days are we having fun!!!!!!!!!! aarrh. So pleased to be at home now but still washing and moping up sick.

I refuse to go to Centre Parcs anymore for this very reason. We only ever went in winter due to prices being more reasonable and the last time we went, everyone got Norovirus. There were kids vomiting everywhere including the pool and they never closed the pool. Hygiene was a nightmare. No one obeyed the stay out of the pool when ill rule as no one wanted to waste their holiday time. That many little kids in a confined space spells disaster in my opinion. There were queues for fresh bedding at the customer service desk too.

Sorry ..... Misread this. I see you meant that it was allergy related! Still' would never go back due to other issues around vomit!

thereinmadnesslies · 14/11/2011 22:11

We were at CP last month and found their allergy awareness really poor. None of the eateries had ingredients lists / allergy documents, so we were forced to rely on the waiting staff going into the kitchen to ask the chef. I found it really hard to trust this - e.g would they pick up that whey = dairy.
Most of the food seemed to be pre-prepared, even in the 'gastro pub', so DS couldn't have spag bol because it has cheese on the top.

I doubt we will go to CP again because of the food situation.

We never eat out when we have been to centre parcs except once to eat a pizza and once a cooked breakfast When we were last there I had to go to the supermarket and pick up bread and ham for a sandwich for DS as there were no ingredients on the packets for the panninis and no-one available in the kitchens to ask Sad

Gosh that sounds grim. Hope your dc is don much better. We've never had a problem at cp in 9 years. We don't eat out much as its overpriced preprepared rubbish, and none of us have allergies.

Thanks everyone. Didn't read any replies yesterday as too busy moping up more sick! Enjoyed filling out the response email to center parcs. Should have asked for others experience before we booked I guess. Sorry that others have had problems too.

Sorry to hear about your dc - hope they are fully recovered by tomorrow. My dd1 lived off chicken nuggets and chips while we were there (milk/egg/nut allergies). Where were you? We were in Longleat and the staff bent over backwards to help us out - providing free fruit etc (she did eat crap food every day though..). The staff in the creche were awfully good too (I did provide all snacks but they had options she could have eaten). They were trained in how to use EpiPens and knew the signs of anaphylaxis. I realise this is no help to you and I'm not trying to rub salt in the wound just surprised you had such a different experience to us.

wow londonmum what a difference. DD seems much better now though still not eating much. We went to Elveden.
