Should I rehome my cats?

Just discovered DD(3.5yrs) has an allergy to cats. Consultant says only really a problem if direct contact. We don't allow them in her bedroom but she does stroke them from time to time. Not sure what to do. Her skin is up and down and I know she has a reaction to dust and grass.

Well I'm allergic to cats (and dogs and house dust mites, and all pollens, and all trees blah de blah de blah)

I have cats and so long as I don't touch them and then touch my eyes I'm okay (take antihistamines daily anyway).

What improved my allergies the most was hard flooring in my bedroom and downstairs and having a leather sofa.

Between previous cat dying and getting the new pair my reactions to cats did worsen, when they first came for the first 3 weeks it was horrendous and I thought they'd have to go back but I adjusted and it's okay now.

However if your dd has asthma then IMHO that is a different kettle of fish altogether. I have had a couple of asthma type reactions in my life - both 2 kittens in not particularly clean homes but I clearly don't have typical asthma which can be life threatening.
