DD2 (3yrs) has always had quite a bloated tummy and would suffer reflux when really 'losing it' either crying or laughing, but it is now happening much more often and seems to be painful, when it didn't previously bother her.

Background-
She has suffered with eczema, but this is much better at the moment.
She has peanut and Hazelnut allergies.
She has had a couple of admissions to hospital with breathing problems following a cold.
She has now been diagnosed with asthma and is on a steroid inhaler and Montelukast tablets every day and salbutamol as required.

She is now regurgitating a small amount every day and is complaining of a sore tummy throughout the day. Her abdomen is so swollen some days it looks like it will pop! None of this seems to affect her bowels, fortunately Smile.

We have an appointment to see our GP on Thurs, but before we go, I wondered if anyone had any thoughts.

consider asking for a blood test for coeliac disease - bloating/wind/pain is one of the symptoms in children

there do not always have to be bowel symptoms - what are her stools like? frequency?

DD has this, she was a real pot bellied toddler, skinny limbs, short for age, pale, struggled to get over colds/chest infections and was generally run down when diagnosed

Thank you.

Her poos are solid, normal colour and regular. She isn't windy, she just looks like a balloon has been inlated in her tummy. She rarely breaks wind and only occasionally burps.

She is tall for her age and solidly built. She is lively, but struggles to walk long distances (I am now assuming because of the asthma). She has suffered with ear infections and chest infections.

I will ask GP about a test and see what she thinks.

sounds like intolerence symtoms, rather that ige, possible to have both.would consider removing milk, but you do need further medical advice, do you have a allergy doc ?

I wondered about dairy intolerance as that is what seemed to trigger her eczema. We are under a consultant but we have recently seen the allergy nurse in his absence. She seemed very knowledgable, but when I discussed it with her, she didn't have any suggestions. At that point though, it didn't seem to be causing her any pain, so I didn't push it.
