DS has been decidedly worse this past week and I am now wondering if food/drink is having an input.

How do i go about finding out if it is?
What do you try first?

He doesn't eat a lot of rubbish but this week my mum has picked himup from school and when they get in, she has donuts, biscuits popcorn etc.

Is it sugar, caffeine in chocolate, fruit juices, what cereals are best.

How quickly wouold you see a difference?

Sorry for all the questions. I just don;t know where to start.

For my DD, sugar and processed foods are the worst offenders. She is normally a nightmare the day after eating them, so I can see a result by the next day (iyswim).

I'd go with cutting out all the donuts, biscuits and popcorn, and then if you want, you can try out a different one each day to see which is the worst offender.

We have a similar situation. DD1 just cannot cope with sugar or food additives her behaviour really deteriorates (sp?). We cut out all sweets (often the worst offenders for us- all that sugar and chemicals I guess) cakes, biscuits etc. Also found we had to watch levels of stuff in savoury food. Pasta sauce and sausages are especially bad.

If somehow she does eat something that makes her flip, we can minimise the effects by making her walk for miles. She hates it mind, but then again, she hates everything when she's on sugar, lol!
