House Dust Mite Allergy Sufferers

We are moving soon and I have 1 child, possibly 2, who are allergic to the dust mite.

I was wondering whether curtains or blinds are better for them, to reduce the mites.

So, what do you have in your house?

Thanks.

I think blinds are better, but I bought a steamer, this one to be exact and since using that, I've noticed a huge difference. Steam the little buggers out and run the vacuum hose over the curtains is what I do, but we do have blinds too.

This is an excellent guide, for each room of the house.

There have been a few threads about steamers on here, I think I may be persuaded :)

Thanks for the link plupedantic that's very useful.

One thing to be aware that you might not have considered is move day itself.

I'm asthmatic with a dust mite allergy and we moved back in February - discovered that unfortunately ds2 has the same. :(

When all the furniture got moved it kicked up a ton of dust from behind/underneath. We had a very rough few days so if you have any medication for them, it's a good idea to make sure you're stocked up that week.
