DS is 22 months ish and has recurrent red patches (excema) on his face, that flare up sometimes when he eats (although I haven't been able to notice a correlation between foods and flare ups) I keep them clean and moisturised (with oilatum that i got from doctors) but they never go away. He also has dry bumpy skin on his legs and arms that can turn red if i don't moisturise it.

He has a tendency that every time he has a cold it goes straight on his chest and he has a cough and wheeze that lasts for weeks. He's had bronchialitis three times (once serious enough to be admitted to hospital for oxygen for a week) and now has been given an inhaler to use when he wheezes.

He has had three bouts of diarrhea that's lasted a couple of weeks in the last six months, that have only cleared up when I've removed dairy from his diet.

He's got dark circles under his eyes.

The doctor says i'm worrying about nothing

Any advice? Any links for info?

Hi - poor mite has really been going through it.

My Ds1 is now 5 - he has eczema and viral wheeze - which is like asthma but only really happens if he has a cold, although I have noticed that some dogs make him wheeze too. I have never gone the non-dairy route so I can't comment on that.

The dark circles were what got my attention as ds's asthma clinic at hospital said both my boys had the tell-tale grey sunken look under their eyes which indicated allergy.

We had the option of allergy testing which I have not persued as most likely it was something like dust mites which I can do naff all about anyway.

We have a treatment plan sorted for his breathing and skin and I feel we are managing both well.

You don't have anything to stress over as what your ds is experiencing is very common and should be easily managed, but I don't think it is fair for your GP to dismiss it. See another GP, or ask for a Paed referal - I don't think that would be unreasonable given the collection of symptoms you've described.

As you've probably already realised, he has some symptoms which could be indicators of allergy, and no wonder you are worried, particularly as he has had problems with wheezing. I think that in your position, I'd be tempted to see a different doctor!
