Looking for a new washing machine that gives good rinsing for eczema sufferers

I've been looking at Which? and noticed that washing machinese these days have to confirm wtih EEC regs about energy efficiency etc meaning they don't use much water. Now, DS2 has eczema and I find it difficult enough keeping it under control as it is with extra rinses on our machine that is 12 years old (and about to pack up), never mind a modern one that will barely use any water and so how can they be efficient at rinsing the detergent residue off properly?

Our old machine is bad enough - when I put a newly washed facecloth in a sink of water the residue that comes off is disgusting - it leaves film of soapiness on the surface of the water. And this is with about 2 EXTRA rinses after the machine's normal rinse. I have serious doubts about modern machines.......

can anyone recommend one that is good for eczema sufferers that doesn't cost the earth?

Hiya just found this.

I ordered a sample of soap nuts (for 75p) from In a soapnut shell, I have done 3 loads with the same 8 shells and the washing seems to be fine.

I wanted to try them for various reasons including mine and DS' eczema and again we both seem to be fine (everything sets us off) have tried surcare, fairy, ecover, non bio own brands, bold, aerial and persil but these seem to be the only things that genuinely don't attack our bloody skin.

It does seem a bit odd that it does'nt smell but you can tell it's clean, I have been hanging mine outside but when that's nt possible if you want you can add a few drops of essential oils.

Regarding Simple hand wash it brings me out in mad rashes but DS is fine with it and we can't use any of the stuff that you get in public toilets so we have to walk around like skanks without washing our hands in soap. :o

countess i get mine from a lady on ebay now, it comes in a bag and is solid untill you melt it in your hand, its much better in the bags i have had it bottled but its hard to use like that.
look for pure organic virgin coconut oil, this is the only thing my skin will tolerate during a flare up.

hello, Try using Gentle Green Ecz-tend cream. It is expensive £30 or can get it for £27 with free postage if google it. We had tried stronger & stronger steroid creams/ antibiotic creams/antibiotics orally - all made it worse! All gone within 4 weeks. Also good fo psoriasis. My sister is a GP was skeptical at first but is now impressed.
