perhaps you could just start with really small amounts... ie, a tiny bit of weetabix for breakfast or something?

spod I was in similar situation with my ds. I retried with bread free from any preservatives. He went fine and now tolerates all biscuits/cakes/breads/pastas etc. We have been doing this for about a year but I have still never given weetbix or any wheat that is raw product so to speak. His first wheat product was a 1/4 weetbix at 7 months and his reaction stopped just short of anaphylaxis so I am still hesitant to go there even though he is now testing negative to wheat. hth

The oat cakes (can't remember their name, something scottish - McNairns?) in white boxes are meant to be really pure with v.little gluten in. It says on the box that they are tolerated in small amounts by most coeliacs.

I tried DS on a quarter of one per day for a few days, and he got ill again, which confirmed my belief in his allergy.

Good luck. It's important to me to keep trying (every three months or so), because I would hate to exclude something from his diet for years which he was actually OK with. It sounds stupid, but because I haven't managed to convince the GP to get tests done, I sometimes feel like I've got that Munchhausen (sp?) thing about his food intolerances.

15mth odl ds always vomited if he ate even a tiny bit of gluten - however in last month have reintroduced with no side effects. GP is ace and referred to paediatricin for coeliac exclusion (waitying for this as they have to be eating glute for at least 2 months or the tests are inconclusive). I started with 1 wheaty pasta bit in the bowl of no-wheaty stuff, and gradually increased. If you suspect coeliac disease and aren't getting anywhere with the GP, push for a second opinion, as if you feed a coelic gluten they can have nasty side effects (blindness - v.rare but none the less) and its important not to give them gluten.

Mymama, do agree about weetabix - this was ds's first wheat too and he puked everywhere!! Not anaphalactic but horribly messy!! (all over babygym and floor), am too scared to give ds this now, but he has normal bread, biscuits, pasta etc with no probs.

A bit of white bread was what my gastoenterologist recommended - weetabix could be quite irritating after a year with no gluten.

I have no plans to test Bob for egg until 3 (and only then if his skin prick test is okay), but when I do it will be with a cake or something that has a tiny amount of cooked egg in it.

Put her on a gluten diet, just white bread and processed stuff like (egg free) biscuits. Then if she has symptoms get the test done again. If she doesn't brilliant.

I personally would wait until nearer 3 for an egg challenge.
