Can anyone recommend a dairy free calcium supplement for a 3 yr old?

Hiya - as the title says really...

DD1 (3.4) is allergic to dairy and eggs; she's been getting enough calcium up to now with 2 cups of calcium enriched soya milk a day and one calcium enriched soya dessert/yoghurt (plus smaller sources from broccoli, beans etc). She's not drinking so much milk any more (maybe one cup a day), so I imagine it would probably be a good idea to give her a calcium supplement. The vitamins I've seen only seem to have small amounts of calcium in (or aren't suitable for milk allergies), so I was just wondering if anyone has looked into this before and can recommend something?

Thanks

At that age I gave my daughter these Boots chewable tablets

They are vanilla flavoured, she loved them. The adult dose is 3 tablets per day. Packaging states not suitable for children under 12, but I disregarded this and gave her perhaps one tablet every third day or so, in addition to fortified rice milk/soya youghurts etc.

My DS is prescribed 'calcium sandoz' (it's a liquid form) for this reason. Ask the dietician/ GP is they think your dc needs it first. Too much calcium can cause a build up in the kidneys causing painful joints, kidney stones, reduced kidney function, calcification in blood vessels. deposits on the heart and brittle bones. They may want to do a blood test first. They can calculate your dc's exact requirements based on diet/ weight and age.
