Raising a glass of something dairy free/ egg free/ gluten free (that will be wine then!) to you all to say thanks for all the advice, support and laughs this year.

Its bloody hard coping with allergies but this board has been my saving grace at times!

Wishing you all stress free, reaction free Christmases!

Merry Christmas to you too.

I agree this board is fantastic and has helped me as DS has developed worsening allergies this year.

Enjoy your wine. Xmas Grin

Merry Christmas to you all. I will be thinking of all you out there baking special treats. I already have my sucrose, fructose and dairy free Christmas treat in the pipeline - and can't wait to see their faces when it's done.
Raising a glass to a stress free New Year to you all too. Xmas Smile

Will be a Happy New Year, have just spoken to DS consultants secretary. They are going to see him again in the New Year and I'm going to be pushy this time - and its all thanks to the support I've had here.

Merry Christmas everyone. xx [frgin]

lets try a Xmas Grin

Whelk · 22/12/2010 11:33

I actually found myself thinking 'what would the other mumsnetters do?' when I was pushing for an epipen for dd2. Grin Blush

I decided that I would not be leaving the consultation room without one!

And I didn't! And I'm so glad, although I am only just in the making friends with it stages- it still terrifies me even looking at it. I have just bought a pretty toilet bag for it to go in with the Piriton and scary information.

Small steps!

whelk I shall certainly have MNers twittering my my ear during my consultation. Smile

They will be saying:

"better to have it and not need it"

"you don't know how bad the next reaction will be"

"you do need an epipen despite the fact the idea scares the crap out of you, not having one if needed will scare even more crap out of you"

and

"hes your son and no-one else will fight for him"

Anyone think the consultant will refer me to therapy Xmas Grin

greenbananas · 22/12/2010 19:12

Mumbar - no, the consultant will think you are a very clued-up mummy!

Whelk · 22/12/2010 21:53

Well I had a follow up email from our consultant about something else and he pretty much said ' well fought' . Blush

I'm hoping no fight needed as GP has already simply said he's seeking advice about needing anything else at home - eg epipen. Hopefully this consult will just be to say yes we do.

My NY resolution is to fight for DS - and its thanks to all the lovely knowledgable MNer parents on this forum.
