Birthday Parties

Would anybody be able to share any ideas for dairy free and/or wheat free foods to serve at a children's birthday party please.

DD1 is having a birthday party. Her best friend has coeliacs, so I would like to provide something suitable.
Also another child has a dairy allergy, so I would like to provide something for them aswell.

I know that both parents are pretty good at providing safe foods for their dc, but I would also like to provide something if possible.

My cookery skills aren't great- but I have made GF fairy cakes for dd and her coeliac friend. Could these be adapted to make them dairy free aswell, or would I be better off making two lots?

Any other things that I could buy, that would be suitable for the two of them would be ideal.

Thanks

How nice you are merry! I'm not good on wheat free but if you use Pure instead of butter in baking it will be fine so you shoudl be able to adapt your GF recipe. Watch the crisps, most flavoured crisps have milk in them. Ready salted Hula Hoops and most plain ones are fine though.

Jelly goes down well and Swedish Glace ice cream (if they're ok with soya) has never been refused at our parties. Ice lollies are usually fine for all as well.

Use Pure for the sandwiches as well. We use Haribo for prizes, never thought I'd give them to my kids but they are pretty good on the allergy front!

Thank you for making the effort - it's always appreciated by us allergy mums Grin

Are you doing hot or cold - Chicken drumsticks cover both bases.

Popcorn instead/as well as crisps is a good swop.

Thanks for all your tips.
Will go and get some pure, as I will use it on the sandwiches aswell as cakes.

I have brought some of the "free from" biscuits from tesco's so far, but love all the ideas. Going off to check for crisps and popcorn now.

Thanks

I use vitalite in cooking which is dairy free. As it is a close friend who over the years you child may see a lot of this book may be useful. all the cakes are very yummy and you can't tell there is anything different about them. most people don't realise until they see that my dd is eating it and then they check I haven't made a mistake
