Can you be tested for wasp allergy?

My 2.5 year old ds recently had a wasp sting on his hand.
It was his first sting and we gave him Piriton immediately. The area swelled up but nothing else became of it.

My grandmother is allergic to wasps and a couple of aunts and uncles are also (to what extent I'm not sure). Both my parents and myself can react badly to various fruits in the summer (hayfever related).

Ds is an eczema sufferer and has a severe reaction to cheese mites (found on hard cheeses). He was seen by a paediatrician and we decided that going down the route of an epipen was unnecessary as we can easily avoid cheese (it's only hard, mature cheese + he's not a fan of cheese anyway).

I am wondering if you can be tested for wasp allergy in the same way you can food allergies? I have a feeling I will be fobbed off if I take DS however, I would rather be prepared if he is stung again, he likes to the catch the little blighters in his hand Shock

You can have skin prick and rasts tests for wasp sting.. I seem to remember a link between wasp venom and latex allergy?
They might not be willing to do it as he didn't have any adverse effects from being stung (though family history may sway them?)

They do for food allergies but not for venom.
