Hi, I'm not fluent but am studying post GCSE level (age 55!)

Sono allergica alle arachide OR

Ho un'allergia alle arachide

should get the message over!

sandripples · 23/08/2010 13:23

By the way these mean I am allergic to peanuts, If its another person it would be

E allergica (if a female)/allergico (if a male) alle arachide.

I would also get them to check that they don't use nut oil say in frying chips if you have a serious allergy ( most places use sunflower ).
The above phrases are brill ....Just add
Incluso Olio a base di arachide

Total hijack of this thread but Rosa your baby is simply gorgeous!! (Just clicked on your name link to see if you were Italian).

Yep, I'm an Italian teacher and your translations are good Sandripples (wish my students were as diligent!)

Rosa · 25/08/2010 18:18

Awww thanks Bubba...No I am British as you would have seen but reside for my sins in Italy ........

Be aware that most people in Italy call them "noccioline" and not arachidi, sometimes even "noccioline americane". So be sure to write down all three terms (maybe the chef or the waiter is not Italian and will not know the word arachide)
