Can anyone please offer any advice or support. I have just found out I am 15 weeks (irregular periods and no symptoms) and have been binge drinking on average twice a week throughout. I am absolutely petrified I have caused severe damage and can’t stop panicking about it. Scan looked fine but I am aware these things don’t show up there. Thanks very much.

Have you discussed this with your midwife and/or doctor? They are best placed to advise, and get any appropriate medical checks done.

They'll have heard it before - Many people get pregnant without realising!

If it helps I went to a party and smoked and drank lots of peach schnapps and orange juice a couple of weeks before discovering I was pregnant. DS is fine.

It's tricky. FASD can be very difficult to deal with, and may not become apparent until years after birth.

Do you want a baby? Could you cope with a child with FASD? Because you might not know if there's damage for years, and then find you're parenting a child with very high needs.

You can't go backwards. Only forwards. Don't worry about what is past, concentrate on doing the best for you and your baby going forwards. X

OP has options if she can't risk parenting a child with FASD.

I'd have a very Frank conversation with your midwife about fast. I don't know when it's safe to drink but I think its pre placenta. I know a few kids with this condition from my sen groups. It's hard to deal with because of the added stigma. Sorry I don't want to scare you as really don't know enough about the condition but I don't think it's fair on you to say don't worry either. Get some proper advice
