I'm very smug pleased with myself. Not planning to go back to booze either and feeling much better in a number of ways.

I don't normally get this far tbh, so this is a good milestone for me.

Not sure why I'm posting except to have a little party for myself 😂🥳

That's amazing, you should be really proud of yourself Star

Did you drink a lot or was it more a case of not liking how it made you feel?

DouglasCrood · 07/03/2022 10:22

I was not the classic alcoholic where I drank all day or anything. But often had a glass or two...or three or four sometimes of an evening, just in front of the telly. Also could put away a startling amount on big nights out and roll home drunk Blush. I'm 38 with children, so fortunately, big nights out are a rare occurance for me anyway, so that didn't happen too often.

It's all too easy for habits to form. I'm there with eating in the evenings at the moment and it's proving very hard to crack.

You've done really well to break that cycle.

Lemonweightloss · 07/03/2022 10:27

@DouglasCrood, well done you ! You have got this. I love posts like this. They are so inspirational to me.
The benefits of not drinking are immense. I've cut down massively after I went through a period of being totally out of control.
I love my periods of abstention though. I feel great in so many ways.
Anyway, once again, well done and keep going. Your future self will thank you ❤

Eating is harder I think as you clearly can't quit eating altogether! Tough one. Good luck with it though! I actually haven't replaced booze with snacks of an evening that much, which surprises me. Probably snack about as much as before (crisps and nuts etc with much wine was my double downfall)

@BoodleBug51, a friend of mine who had this snacking problem went on the 16:8 plan. She eats from 10.30am til 6.30am then stops.
I don't know if this would work for you, but it's worth a try ?

BoodleBug51 · 07/03/2022 12:22

@Lemonweightloss I did do that for 3 months once and lost well over 2 stone. Then I went on holiday and have never been able to get back to it!

It did really help though with the evening boredom eating...... thank you for reminding me.
