Weight loss after stopping drinking

I haven't had a drink this year (did Dry January then carried on).
I've found it surprisingly easy and I'm not missing the booze at all but I'm not really feeling any benefits either - slightly better quality of sleep perhaps.
In particular, I haven't lost any weight even though I'm not eating more or sugary things to compensate. It wasn't my reason for quitting (though i've got a bit of lockdown lard to lose) but I'm still feeling a bit hard done by! Has anyone else found no/low alcohol had no impact on their weight?

How much were you drinking?

If a glass a day, I wouldn't expect much weight loss tbh.
If a bottle, I would.

I drink too much and if I stop I lose weight on my face and stomach and just generally look so much better/younger! I bet you do too.Smile

I'm the same, I eat less if I'm drinking and don't feel like eating breakfast / lunch the next day so overall calories are probably the same

I was drinking a fair amount - definitely more than 14 units a week. I've always liked a beer/G&T/glass of wine and my consumption had crept up over the last year due to lockdown boredom. It might partly be that the gym has been closed and that's counterbalancing the impact of not drinking - I've been going for long walks but can't run due to a dodgy knee.

I've gained weight from replacing booze with sugar. But I feel loads better so I'll take it.
