Social aspect of stopping drinking

I don’t drink a lot. I’ve had 2 glasses of wine tonight at home. First drink since Christmas and it was August before that. Lockdown has played a part in this because I’ve had nowhere to go to have a drink.

I came to bed at 9pm tonight and am still lying wide awake - but at the same time shattered! I’ve thought for a while about stopping drinking altogether, but then not bothered because I drink so infrequently and wondered how I would enjoy certain events, for example I have two hen parties coming up this year. Does anyone have experience of this? I want to go because I love hen parties, I’m worried as I will be seen as a bore because I do perk up after a drink and I’m worried about not enjoying parties/nights out anymore.
I’m a member of a running group and have lots of friends to socialise with through that so not everything revolves around drink.

It takes some practice, but it's entirely possible to have a great night out without alcohol.
You may find you're not up until 3am with the drinkers, but honestly, no one will really remember, and you'll feel great in the morning Smile
