A question about the 2 days dry a week

Is it effective to go from every day drinking to this? I've read that if you have a fatty liver from booze (which I very likely have) you need to not drink any for at least 4-6 weeks in order to balance the enzymes again. However I'm clearly crap and can go anything from 4 days to 2 weeks without drinking but never quite end up at that 'safe' point. I do drink a lot less than I used to and I can easily go a few days without it... but then I fancy a few wines. Any advice? Medically?!

No medical advice sorry.

Can you attempt to estimate your current intake - those that have experience might find that useful info.

A few wines to me might be a barrowful to you, for eg.

1-2 bottles every 3-4 days. 4 bottles a week at worst I'd say? But then there are times I can go longer, I can just never get to the point where supposedly my liver will repair itself :/

Test your liver. As it can repair itself early stages, but if it gets too far gone it can’t repair. I met someone who drank a bottle a day for 20 years (he made sure to get regular liver checks). After twenty years his liver showed signs of damage so he quit and it’s been four years now and his liver back to normal, but he won’t be returning to drinking.

Good tip. At the dr? Every few weeks? I'm slightly terrified as I'm sure I've got low grade liver disease or something. I've been drinking to this degree (sometimes more when partying) for maybe 7 years so hoping I can reverse some damage but think I might be in denial.
