Matching Process?

Does adoption leave commence at the begining of the matching process?
From what I understand it does. SO, if this is the case when does hubbies paternity leave start? Does he have to take his own leave or unpaid leave during the matching process then whatever he has left (annual leave) have to be taken on placement of the child?
Ireally wnated hubby home for at least 4 weeks after placement. Is that too long..

Advice please...

What experience did you have?

my brother took paternity leave when his twins were placed with him they go to court to sign and seal in a couple of months.

Thanks....

What did he do for the matching process? The matching process takes place prior to placement. Did he start his paternity leave during the matching process or was it on placement(when the twins moved in)
How long was he home for?

I can't remember what our company policy says about paternity leave. My adoption leave will start with introductions, one week before placement. I think company policy doesn't specify exactly when it must start, just so long as it is after matching panel - which, in our case, is 10 days before introductions.

I suppose it must depend on how old the child and therefore how introductions are taking place. In our case, it's a baby so we will be with her every day for a week before bringing her home. We will need adoption leave to start at that point, obviously, not at placement.

for my previous company fathers were allowed as soon as the child was placed,my adoption leave when we had the matching documents.do you want him there before you get your child?

not sure what the terminology is re matching. it all happened quickly. They were given details about the twins and then had to say yeh or ney, they said yes and then a fortnight later they visited the twins every day for a week, some visits were at their house with the social workers and foster carers some at the foster carers house and then one day when they had them all day by themselves. They had to be there (the FC house) when they woke up and they put them to bed there then went home absolutely exhausted. As they are babies it was all done very quickly and at the end of the week they moved in. This is when he took the paternity leave, he had a week of it I think then took annual leave for a week then worked from home for 2 weeks.
