Hello! Myself and my husband are considering adoption, and want to educate ourselves as much as possible and get chatting to others that have adopted.
Bit of a back story I am 28 and my husband 32. My husband has a child from a previous relationship who is 12 and stays at our house on weekends. We also have a very friendly little dog. We have space in our home for children to have their own bedroom, and our house and garden aren’t currently under any renovations. We both work, however both workplaces are very family friendly, and I could potentially drop to part time if needed in the future after adoption leave.
We have been to a local adoption talk, I think this was done under the local council, to get a bit of early information. I’d love it if anyone had any recommendations for books, talks, blogs to follow so we can have a look at these too.
Thank you x

Here's some of my early learning log, I have loads more I'll fish out for you, but these should be a good few suggestions to get your noggin around the adoption jist.
Some of the shows are now quite dated but definitely worth watching.
I've not been watching out for much recently but bbc had loads of childhood adversity which ties well into adoption.
Best of luck x

@tonyhawks23 thank you, I’ll have to have a look at those webinars. I didn’t realise that they had zoom meet ups for prospective adopters, I’d love to join one of those.
