Hi

Just some advice really my son has started to fall over continuously for no reason ( he's 7) just throwing himself over everything and anything every time I look at him he's upside down! He's not hurting himself and I'm not even sure it's for attention?
Any ideas??

Thanks

Could be sensory for him, my DD watches tv upside down all the time, there’s some research around movement and body position helping kids process trauma with good examples in clinical
practice.

He has just had a very in-depth sensory assessment and has come back fine with no immediate problem etc and there were a couple of suggestions for non sensory .
I think it's like this with many if us but you get one thing sorted and then something else start it's like a Ferris wheel you can't get off of.

Thanks

When my DC feels unsettled / subconsciously a bit unsafe, there’s a lot of falling over. It’s not on purpose, but it’s definitely connected to needing extra looking after and nurturing. What happens with your DS if you make a bit of extra fuss checking he’s ok, and keep him close by for a bit?

Hi
He does not do this at anyone else's house just ours , if we ignore it or make a fuss and there is no charge really
We are having the most epic meltdowns/ episodes this Christmas I know Christmas can be a trigger but this is his 5th one with us and we not really had any big problems before apart from the usual, anticlimactic, overwhelming tired which most children have. He really enjoys Christmas and his birthday is also in December so it can be a busy time but he loves it generally but this year is bloody hard!!

Any tips??

Thanks

I would say that as long as what he's doing is safe and it isn't becoming an obsession I'd let him get on with it. It is possible that he's just doing it to burn off energy. My 2 are charging around more than ever because we can't get outside as much as over the summer.

I read this and though I have done this all my life. Then I had a real think about when I last did it and seems I have not done it in a long time. I must of grown out of it in middle age. (Am late 40's now) It may just be I cant get back up without it hurting.

Being upside down is fun, more blood to the head. My LO can be found in all sorts of positions. I think they just enjoy it and he may just enjoy seeing the world in a different way.
