Celebration ceremony

We have our celebration ceremony date through for in a couple of months time. Does anyone know any books/video clips / peppa pig episodes lol that can be used to show what a court and a judge looks like at a kids level? Wanted to give some idea to our 3 year old before we go to it so she is more prepared but have no idea where to find something her level and straight forward. Any ideas lovely mumsnetters?

First time round just stayed in chambers as judge said less scary for children.second time went into court but in both cases judges wore civvies to make it child friendly .
So be prepared as it will probably down to individual judge to how it will pan out

Our Judge was lovely. Had all his garb on but had the kids try the wig on, sit in his chair with us and have photos, it was really relaxed and not scarey. Said it was best part of his job! It was family court, quite modern, normal tables and chairs, not all the old fashioned woodwork. Cousins came and kids were all wandering around, very relaxed. Worst part for us was getting through security as they looked like police and my kids are terrified of the police!

@Patchyman1 experience with security is definitely a huge consideration, me and my son never actually made it to his celebration ceremony.

He was scared of the security so he got a bit upset, they then shouted at us for being slow, so my son wanted to be carried in by me, they wouldn’t let us so I asked if they would move a bit to the side as he was too scared to walk by, so I just left and we didn’t bother.

I obviously knew there would be security, but I didn’t expect them to shout at a three year old.

Completely agree on security. We had to queue with a lot of other "clients"(?), all intimidating-looking men.
AD was 18 months and had to walk through the metal detector alone.
Luckily our waiting area was around a corner away from the rest of the "clients", so just our small extended family and SWs. The courtroom itself was fine, looked more like a meeting room. The judge was lovely and we got to take photos up front, etc.

Nutmeg gets adopted is a book that talks about the wise judge.

First time we went it was a full court with judge in wig etc, he was lovely, invited us up and let child put the wig on and sit in his chair. Went for second child’s ceremony and we were in a side room and were so disappointed!
could you show your son the end of instant family, when they go to court? It’s not exactly how it happens, but it is a very positive way to show it?
